Give me your tired,
your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be free
No other words sum up the American dream better than those inscribed upon the Statue of Liberty's base. Immigration is a personal story. Many leave their past lives behind in order to secure the best for their families
and to make sure their children have the opportunities they never had.
They trust that our great nation, the land we call the United States of America has and always will be a beacon for the oppressed and for those who believe in the sacred flame of freedom and fight to share in it.

I won't let attacks on those
who fight to be American stand.

Immigrants have worked hard to have a shot at the American dream, waiting decades through our lengthy immigration system to become American.
In return, they have shown their love to this great nation by contributing to its economy; and by opening small businesses, creating new opportunities for everyone; and they are active in the communities that have welcomed them. Their hard work and contributions show the American spirit of charity and working for your community is still alive and it is well. No one believes in America and treasures it like the immigrants who worked hard because they still believe in the American dream. And no matter from what corner of the globe they come from; they come always having faith in America and our values; eager to learn and participate in our laws and traditions. I will continue to stand up against hateful immigration rhetoric and laws that serve to tear us apart from our fellow Americans, and I will fight for those who still believe in an American dream.
