It's Time For School.
More Teachers in Classrooms
Research shows that students thrive when more attention is given to them. We have to solve the teacher shortage with higher teacher salaries, stronger work benefits like earlier student loan forgiveness, and more money into after school programs and extra curriculars. Together, we can make sure that every student is given the attention they need.

Say NO to Failing Private Schools
When schools become private, money comes before student success. We wouldn't want the fire department privatized, so why let it happen to our schools? Apples to apples, private schools provide worse education for students than public schools. Recently, the State Gov't has elected to pump taxpayer money into these failing schools. I say enough is enough, it's time to put the money where success is, and that's in public schools.

A Better Promise for Students
The TN Promise is one of the things that makes our state great. It gives hope to high schoolers who wouldn't see a future in college without it. In my view, this is one of the best bills we have passed, and it needs to be expanded. When I'm elected, the Hope Scholarship would include Public Universities, not just Community Colleges. And it wouldn't have a time limit or financial ceiling. College will be free for all Tennesseans.
Tennessee's Report Card
SUBJECT | GRADE
Teacher Pay . . . . . . F
Student Success . . . F
Quality . . . . . . . . . . . . F
Higher Ed . . . . . . . . . . C
Fixability . . . . . . . . . . A
Tennessee's Report Card is looking rough. Low Teacher Pay, Crowded Classrooms, Low Quality Materials to Work With, and a mid-level access to Higher Education. Our teachers put up with it all to give our students the best education they can, but without our help our students and teachers face an uphill battle. Where we are now gives us plenty of room to improve, and I plan on doing just that.
